Hello & Welcome!
So glad you’re here! A little about me…
In 2013, I began Abbie Nell Photography after a year-long personal project on Instagram spurred an interest and hidden talent in photography. During that summer, I attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn for a month in their pre-college program studying digital photography. It was a combination of these things that led me to chase this passion as a career.
I was heavily influenced by my time at Texas Tech double majoring in agricultural communications and creative media industries. I decided I no longer wanted to just be a photographer, but a multimedia storyteller. My work is diverse, and I like it that way. I have many interests and a desire to constantly learn about the world around me.
I do, however, have a special place in my heart for agriculture. I grew up on a small farming and ranching operation just north of Lubbock, Texas and love telling the stories of our earth’s greatest caretakers.
I held many jobs and internships while at Texas Tech including my favorite—a freelance photography position at the Lubbock Avalanche Journal. Upon graduating from Texas Tech in December 2018, I moved to Wooster, Ohio in April 2019 where I was a Communications Specialist at Certified Angus Beef. After three great years in Ohio (including meeting and marrying my husband David) we moved to Columbia, Missouri where I am now the University of Missouri’s official University Photographer.
When I don’t have a camera (or two or three) slung over my shoulder, you can find me listening to audiobooks, enjoying game nights with friends, or enjoying a movie and a glass of wine at home with my husband and our cat.
